Food is always good. Great presentation and chefs are always a lot of fun. Waitress should learn to pay attention to her customers though... Was out of water mid way through the meal and at no point did she consider a refill. I asked but it was at the end when I figured she wasn't ever going to get the hint...
We ordered Pineapple fried rice but got Pineapple chicken with side of white rice. I called to let them know but ended up more frustrated because the person told me I got fried rice. White rice and fried rice are very different. Not ordering here again!
The staff were very helpful. The cooking was entertaining and there was always something being dished up to eat. Maybe a 5 to 7 minute wait. I'll go back.
We went to Katos on Friday early evening when there were very few people there yet somehow the order for my food did not get placed or was overlooked. The waitress served salad and soup to every one at our table at the Hibachi bar table except me which was my first clue that something might be wrong. Finally after the Hibachi chef had almost finished serving everyone I found our waitress and told her that while everyone else was eating their meals and had also had soup and salad that I had not been given any food and my meal which was not hibachi had not been delivered. She insisted that my meal did not come with soup or salad which I knew was not true as I had been there before and ordered the very same meal. She also said that they had not forgotten and that it would be out shortly . Only after she saw my husband sharing food with me from his plate did she finally head for the kitchen to check on my order. She came back a few minutes later and said it would be right out and that they were still cooking it. When it arrived another 10 minutes later the chicken was partially raw and for the first time in my life and against my better judgement I asked that my dinner be sent back to the kitchen to have the chicken cooked a "little bit more". Ten more minutes later she redelivered my dinner of sweet and sour chicken now over cooked, burnt on the edges and completely dry without so much as any kind of an apology. She also never came back to check and see if everything was alright. The next time we saw her she had our bill in hand and wished us a nice evening. It definitely was not a pleasant dinner or one that I am likely to want to repeat anytime soon and to say the least the service was the worst I've ever experienced.
Koto is always a good idea. They give you free fried ice cream on your birthday. The fried desserts are worth having more than once. The sushi is some of the best I've ever had and so cheap (Sunday-Thursday half-priced). The hibachi lunches are enormous and well priced. Hibachi dinners are pricier but I believe the portion is just a bit bigger. Even if you just came for the sushi it'd be worth it (non-hibachi booths line the walls). They're always extremely polite and smiling. On weekend nights they can be crazy busy, but the food and entertainment is worth it. Very family friendly.
